Short version: we publish what a public register says, as accurately as we can. We are not the businesses listed here and we do not vouch for them. Check things that matter before you hire anyone.
What this site is
An information service. We republish public register data about businesses registered to carry waste in England, alongside guidance about clearing a property.
We are not a waste carrier, a clearance company, or an agent for any business listed here. We do not carry out clearances, we do not employ the businesses listed, and we have no commercial relationship with them unless a page says otherwise.
What a listing means
That the business appeared on the Environment Agency's public register when we last checked. Nothing more. It is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or any statement about quality, competence, insurance or price. See where our data comes from.
Accuracy
We take accuracy seriously. Every listing carries the date we last checked it, we refresh daily, and we would rather show nothing than show something wrong.
Even so, the register can be out of date, a business can change between our checks, and we can make mistakes. So the site is provided as it is, and you should verify anything that matters directly with the business or with the Environment Agency register before relying on it.

Your responsibilities when hiring
If you produce waste, the law places a duty of care on you. If waste from your property is dumped illegally, you can be held responsible even though someone else dumped it. Checking a carrier is registered is part of discharging that duty, but it is not all of it: you should also get a waste transfer note and keep it.
Using this site does not discharge your duty of care, and we cannot do it for you.
Using our content
The register data is not ours and is licensed from its publishers, whose terms are on the data sources page. Our own writing and design belong to us. You are welcome to link to any page here.
Please do not scrape the site or attempt to extract the underlying dataset in bulk. Much of it concerns individuals, and we are careful about how it is exposed for that reason.
Liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Beyond that, we are not liable for loss arising from your dealings with a business listed here, since that is a matter between you and them.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when we last did. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
