Categories describe the waste this registration permits the business to carry. They are not a list of services, and they say nothing about how well the work is done.

The Environment Agency's register does not hold contact details for anybody, so we have none to publish. If this is your firm, you can add them.

Is this your firm?

Your name is not on this page. We publish the trading name only, never the personal name, the street address or the full postcode. Less about you than the Environment Agency publishes.

The register holds no way to reach you. Add one, and correct anything above. Neither costs anything.

Four duties that run while the skip is on the road

Section 139(4) of the Highways Act 1980 puts four duties on the skip's owner once it is on the highway. Keep it properly lit during the hours of darkness and marked as the regulations require. Mark it clearly and indelibly with the owner's name and with a telephone number or address. Remove it as soon as practicable once it has been filled. Comply with every condition the permission was granted subject to. Failing any of the four is an offence carrying a fine of up to £1,000.

What the register settles, and what to ask the firm

We publish the register. Here is where it stops.

It does tell you

  • That the business is registered to transport waste
  • Which tier the registration sits in
  • When the registration expires

It does not tell you

  • That the work will be done well
  • Anything about complaints, insurance or disputes
  • That anyone has inspected their vehicles or staff
