The Environment Agency's register does not hold contact details for anybody, so we have none to publish. If this is your firm, you can add them.

Is this your firm?

Your name is not on this page. We publish the trading name only, never the personal name, the street address or the full postcode. Less about you than the Environment Agency publishes.

The register holds no way to reach you. Add one, and correct anything above. Neither costs anything.

Loose batteries go back to a shop, free

Regulation 31 of the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 requires a distributor of portable batteries to take waste portable batteries back at no charge, at any place it supplies them, and it may not oblige anyone to buy a new battery in exchange. The duty does not apply to a small distributor, meaning one supplying less than 32kg of portable batteries a year.

legislation.gov.uk, The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009, regulation 31 (take back of portable batteries). Read 2026-09-03. What happens to the things you cannot keep explains this in full.

What the register settles, and what to ask the firm

We publish the register. Here is where it stops.

It does tell you

  • That the business is registered to transport waste
  • Which tier the registration sits in
  • When the registration expires

It does not tell you

  • That the work will be done well
  • Anything about complaints, insurance or disputes
  • That anyone has inspected their vehicles or staff
