Section 45AZF of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 lets the Environment Agency give a compliance notice where it considers a person is failing to comply with section 45AZA(8) or 45AZB(8), or is party to collection arrangements that fail those sections. The notice must specify the failure, the steps to take, the period for taking them and the rights of appeal. Failing to comply with it is an offence, punishable by a fine.
