Waste categories on the registration

House & estate clearance

Categories describe the waste this registration permits the business to carry. They are not a list of services, and they say nothing about how well the work is done.

The Environment Agency's register does not hold contact details for anybody, so we have none to publish. If this is your firm, you can add them.

Is this your firm?

Your name is not on this page. We publish the trading name only, never the personal name, the street address or the full postcode. Less about you than the Environment Agency publishes.

The register holds no way to reach you. Add one, and correct anything above. Neither costs anything.

A waste vehicle can be stopped, searched and seized

Where an authorised officer or a constable reasonably believes controlled waste is being transported in contravention of section 1(1), section 5 of the Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989 lets them search the vehicle, carry out tests on anything found in it including by taking samples away, and seize the vehicle and its contents. Only a constable in uniform may stop a vehicle on a road.

legislation.gov.uk (The National Archives), Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989, section 5(2) and (5), version in force at 4 September 2026. Read 2026-09-04. Fly-tipping: when it becomes your fine explains this in full.

What the register settles, and what to ask the firm

We publish the register. Here is where it stops.

It does tell you

  • That the business is registered to transport waste
  • Which tier the registration sits in
  • When the registration expires

It does not tell you

  • That the work will be done well
  • Anything about complaints, insurance or disputes
  • That anyone has inspected their vehicles or staff
