The Environment Agency's register does not hold contact details for anybody, so we have none to publish. If this is your firm, you can add them.

Is this your firm?

Your name is not on this page. We publish the trading name only, never the personal name, the street address or the full postcode. Less about you than the Environment Agency publishes.

The register holds no way to reach you. Add one, and correct anything above. Neither costs anything.

No permit is needed for a skip on your own drive

Section 139 of the Highways Act 1980 bites where a skip is deposited on a highway. Birmingham City Council puts the practical effect plainly: you do not need a skip permit to place a skip on private land, such as a private driveway. Sandwell Council says the same for a front garden or a drive, and adds that you do not have to use a company from its approved list either. Sandwell also notes that a skip going on the highway even for half an hour still needs a permit.

Birmingham City Council, Residents or business wanting to place a skip on the highway. Read 2026-09-04. House clearance, skip or man and van explains this in full.

What the register settles, and what to ask the firm

We publish the register. Here is where it stops.

It does tell you

  • That the business is registered to transport waste
  • Which tier the registration sits in
  • When the registration expires

It does not tell you

  • That the work will be done well
  • Anything about complaints, insurance or disputes
  • That anyone has inspected their vehicles or staff
