Food waste applies even with no kitchen on site

Defra guidance on workplace recycling says a workplace must collect food waste even if it does not serve food or have a kitchen, and that the rule applies however little food waste there is. Coffee grounds, tea bags, apple cores and food preparation waste are its examples, and it says staff should not be asked to take food waste home. Packaging labelled compostable or biodegradable is not collected with food waste, though caddy liners can be.
