Booking ahead is now the rule at a good many centres

Booking systems spread after 2020 and plenty have stayed. Oxfordshire has required a booking since 14 January 2026, bookable up to two weeks ahead or thirty minutes before arrival, with asbestos visits needing 48 hours' notice.
