Digital waste tracking starts on 1 October 2026
The Digital Waste Tracking (England) Regulations 2026 were made on 24 June 2026 and come into force on 1 October 2026. They extend to England and Wales and apply in England. Regulation 4 puts the duty on the operator of a permitted facility: when a load of controlled waste is received, the operator records the information set out in Schedule 1 and then checks that it has reached the tracking system.
