Waste categories on the registration

House & estate clearance

Categories describe the waste this registration permits the business to carry. They are not a list of services, and they say nothing about how well the work is done.

The Environment Agency's register does not hold contact details for anybody, so we have none to publish. If this is your firm, you can add them.

Is this your firm?

Your name is not on this page. We publish the trading name only, never the personal name, the street address or the full postcode. Less about you than the Environment Agency publishes.

The register holds no way to reach you. Add one, and correct anything above. Neither costs anything.

The paperwork a clearance leaves behind, and how long to keep it

The waste duty of care code of practice says the written description of waste must be agreed and signed by the person handing it over and by the next holder, and that it should carry the classification code, the quantity and nature of the waste, the time and place of transfer, both names and addresses, and the capacity each party is acting in with the permit or registration number behind it. Copies are to be kept for two years for non-hazardous waste.

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Environment Agency, Waste duty of care: code of practice (accessible version). Read 2026-09-04. What a waste transfer note is, and why you keep it explains this in full.

What the register settles, and what to ask the firm

We publish the register. Here is where it stops.

It does tell you

  • That the business is registered to transport waste
  • Which tier the registration sits in
  • When the registration expires

It does not tell you

  • That the work will be done well
  • Anything about complaints, insurance or disputes
  • That anyone has inspected their vehicles or staff
