The abandonment procedure that never started, now deleted

Part 3 of the Housing and Planning Act 2016 set out a procedure for recovering abandoned premises let on an assured shorthold tenancy, using warning notices rather than a court order. It was never brought into force. Section 59 of the Renters' Rights Act 2025 omits that Part from the 2016 Act altogether, and took effect on 27 December 2025.
