House & estate clearance

Categories describe the waste this registration permits the business to carry. They are not a list of services, and they say nothing about how well the work is done.

The Environment Agency's register does not hold contact details for anybody, so we have none to publish. If this is your firm, you can add them.

Is this your firm?

Your name is not on this page. We publish the trading name only, never the personal name, the street address or the full postcode. Less about you than the Environment Agency publishes.

The register holds no way to reach you. Add one, and correct anything above. Neither costs anything.

Waste a tradesperson makes is the tradesperson's waste

The waste duty of care code of practice says that where a tradesperson carries out work on a property, they are responsible for the waste they produce, including transporting and disposing of it, and that the cost of disposal should be included in what they charge for the work. The code adds that the occupier is not transferring that waste to the tradesperson, and that the occupier's own duty of care does not apply to it. Add your own waste to their skip and the code says the duty applies to that.

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Environment Agency, Waste duty of care: code of practice (accessible version). Read 2026-09-04. What a house clearance costs in 2026 explains this in full.

What the register settles, and what to ask the firm

We publish the register. Here is where it stops.

It does tell you

  • That the business is registered to transport waste
  • Which tier the registration sits in
  • When the registration expires

It does not tell you

  • That the work will be done well
  • Anything about complaints, insurance or disputes
  • That anyone has inspected their vehicles or staff
